In light of the uncertainties associated with the coronavirus epidemic and issuance of "Shelter in Place" orders, the Rotary Club of Orinda has cancelled all regular Wednesday meetings at the Orinda Community Center until further notice. We have also cancelled all Spring events, including Rotary Field Day, scheduled for Saturday April 25.For our Club, the health and welfare of all Rotarians and the community is always the main concern in our community service projects. Given the extreme unpredictability of events surrounding the coronavirus epidemic, we prefer to be overcautious in cancelling/postponing our upcoming spring events, rather than risk that these gatherings become hot spots of infection.
Our decision is in line with Governor Newsom's state-wide orders a new advisory by the Contra Costa County Health Service Department to cancel all gatherings of 10 or more people. It also is in line with today's decision by our Rotary District 5160 to cancel the Spring Assembly and the District Conference.
