ImageDick Burkhalter introduced the Principal of Miramonte High School, Adam Clark, who shared that Miramonte graduates 95% of its students and consistently ranks in the top tier of all high schools in the state with an Academic Performance Index (API) score of 944 out of 1,000. Principal Clark then introduced Miramonte Teacher of the Year, Dan Shortenhaus.  Mr. Shortenhaus teaches Physics in a creative way -- both in and out of the classroom.  His approach is very hands-on -- which excites and inspires his students.  Both Principal Clark and Mr. Shortenhaus thanked Orinda Rotary for its support of Miramonte and for the $150 teacher stipend awarded, which will be used for science supplies.
