Dan Lawrence announced that he is taking over for Frank Brunetti to head up the Bocce Ball Bash on June 8 at 9:30 a.m. at the Martinez Waterfront Park. This is a fun family event and he'd like to see a good turn-out of Orinda Rotarians. Sign up now!

Sue Breedlove reminded everyone about the 4th of July parade coming up. Be sure to participate in the parade -- we meet at the BART parking lot no later than 9:30 a.m. and the parade starts at 10:00 a.m. We need people to help man our booth in the park, too! (By the way, thanks, Sue, for keeping our meetings running smoothly in our new location!!)

Dick Burkhalter and wife Betty will be taking off this weekend for their annual summer escape to Shingletown, in the mountains east of Redding. President Jack noted that he has visited them there and it is truly and beautiful and tranquil spot. If your travels take you north, stop by and see them.. Have a great summer, Dick!

We were delighted to have Clay Deanhart with us.  He filled us in on Field Day and presented the high point awards to the young boys and girls who scored the most points in all events. Well-done Clay. President Jack presented Clay with an first place blue ribbon himself, greatly earned!  President Jack also recognized Cheryl Collins, long-time PE and Kindergarten teacher (and major Field Day supporter!) at Del Rey school who is retiring this June.  Congratulations, Cheryl, and thank you for all your years of dedication to our kids!
