Rotary Club of Orinda

For over 60 years, our Rotary Club has served the city of Orinda and beyond by supporting projects that benefit local citizens, as well as those less fortunate in surrounding communities.

Many of our projects have enhanced the quality of life here -- the play structure and gazebo in Orinda Community Park, the kitchen in the Community Center, Wagner Ranch Nature Area improvements, for example -- and enriched our schools, including dictionaries for all third-graders, the Kids N' Kreeks environmental education program, Teacher Recognition. Some of the events we sponsor have become valued Orinda community traditions --  Miramonte Career Night, the annual Spring Egg Hunt, and Rotary Field Day.  Other things we do, like the Tom Fitch Fish Outing with the Oakland Boys' and Girls' Club and our team of Meals on Wheels weekly drivers, reach outside of Orinda in support of youth and seniors who need some extra attention or help.

We are actively involved in searching for new ways to contribute our time and financial resources in service to our community.  Most recently, we became partners in the Orinda Classic Car Show, which benefits the "Seniors Around Town" transportation program, as well as the Educational Foundation of Orinda and other local charities.  We are currently heading a fundraising campaign on behalf of the city to purchase an electronic score board for the new community sports fields at Wilder and funding the launch of Lamorinda Village, which provides services to seniors, enabling them to stay in their homes and live independently.

Orinda Rotary is a vital part of the fabric that makes Orinda such a special place.  Check us out by coming to one of our lunches -- every Wednesday at the Orinda Country Club.  Visitors are welcome!
