Sanders and Trump‐‐The Outsiders: American Populism oof the Left and Right: Professor Henry E. Brady, the Dean of the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley, gave us an update on the current controversial presidential campaigns, including the demographics of candidate supporters.   It was a fascinating snapshot and a very enlightening summary of what appears to be influencing voters in this year's presidential election.  Brady received his PhD in Economics and Political Science from MIT in 1980. He has worked for the federal Office of Management and Budget and other organizations in Washington, D.C. He is past president of the American Political Science Association, past president of the Political Methodology Society of the American Political Science Association, and was director of the University of California’s Survey Research Center from 1998 to 2009. His most recent book is "The Unheavenly Chorus: Unequal Political Voice and the Broken Promise of American Democracy". Henry Brady has also authored numerous articles on political participation, political methodology, the dynamics of public opinion, and other topics. He was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences in 2003 and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in 2006.

From Our Own Correspondents: Very recently, Orinda Rotarian Weylin Eng was spotted strolling along Honolulu's Waikiki Beach. He seemed lost deep in thoughts, probably pondering which of the 26 Rotary Clubs on the Hawaiian island of Oahu he should visit to make up. Weylin finally decided to attend the meeting of the West Honolulu Club. In the photo Weylin is seen exchanging Rotary Banners with Club President Richard Ing and the club's speaker of the day. Note the blue Pacific Ocean in the background.
