Orinda Rotary celebrated Valentine's
Day not once--but twice! A romantic "Cabernet and Cabaret" dinner, donated to last fall's Dancing with the Cars fundraiser by Orinda chef, Charlie Vollmar of the Epicurean Exchange, was held at the Wilder Ranch House on February 11. Guests prepared a mutli-course gourmet menu under the tutelage of Chef Charlie and then enjoyed romantic songs performed by Jose Avelar and Barbara Bontemps. Rotarians Sue and Jim Breedlove hosted the evening for their book club, which includes fellow Rotarians Joyce Hawkins and Jack Sweitzer, Frank and Rhonda Darling, plus Glenn and Joel Jackson, Jay and Charlie Wingo and Tom and Debbie White.

On Valentine's Day itself, our club held its second evening meeting featuring our good friend, Fritz Tubach, taking us on a romantic journey through Tuscany. A delicious array of tantalizing appetizers was served by our caterer, Leslie and crew--and a special "Bubbles of Love" champagne cocktail proved a hit with attendees, who also took home boxes o
f Valentine chocolates.
